Langkawi SkyCab Mobile Apps

This is my last semester and I have been undergoing industrial training at Langkawi Cable Car Station for 3 months. As part of the industrial training mandatory requirement, I have to be involved in any IT project that related to the courses that I have go through. Since there is no any mobile application developed for Langkawi Cable Car yet, I had proposed to take the task on running a project to develop a mobile application for Langkawi Cable Car or known as Langkawi Skycab Apps. This kind of apps is not going to be a cross platform apps yet, which means it only will be supported on the Android platform but not for iOS or Apple user (hopefully it would be one day) hahaha :).

I have been learning about Mobile Apps Development since I was in semester of fifth. During this time, I had gained a lot of knowledges on how to develop a mobile application from the scratch. I was also joined a 2 days workshop on developing mobile apps that organised by Google Malaysia few months ago. Thus, this would be a great opportunity for me to explore more and gain a lot of knowledges on the mobile application development. I am using Android Studio as the Integrated Development Environment (IDE), integrated with Java programming language to deploy the codes as well as running and testing the apps.

At the end of the industrial training period (5 months), this project must be presented to the head of IT department as well as to the appointed lecturer (supervisor). This kind of project is not intended to be commercialized yet since it is developed just for my industrial training project but hopefully it could be improved, maintained and enhanced from times to times if the company would like to.

After few months of implementation, here is my current progress of the project so far.

Luckily, there was a visit from UKM’s boards including vice chancellor of UKM (Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Noor Azlan Ghazali) and Minister of Higher Education of Malaysia (Dato’ Seri Haji Idris bin Jusoh) during my internship period at the Cable Car Station. I took the photos with them too! 🙂
